What is included:

Where are payments made?

Is it safe to venture out on my own?
- Yes, in fact, most of our volunteers are solo travelers. Once you come and meet your peers you will no longer feel alone, although you do have an option to explore alone.
How much money should I bring?
- We recommend about $200 - 300 for every seven days you are in Ghana.
Are the destinations safe and secure?
- All the countries we work in are safe for travel. We follow advice from the US State Department regarding the countries we work in and the countries that border them. We also have overseas staff—based out of the towns we travel to—in all our destinations. The staff are there to support you 24/7 with anything and everything.
When can I go?
- Every 4-6 months IASO has a trip package that you can sign up for, see itinerary for specific upcoming dates. There is a limited amount of space for each trip.
How do I get from the airport to my lodging?
- A member of the IASO team will meet you at the airport. This is the first contact/person you’ll see upon leaving the airport; a member of our staff in an IASO Voluntours T-shirt, waiting to take you to your hotel to meet your volunteer peers.
Can I use my mobile phone overseas?
- Yes. You can either talk to your mobile provider and sign up for an international plan, or bring your phone and we can help you buy minutes to put on your phone which will allow you to use the Ghana mobile network.
What happens to my payments when I can no longer make the trip?
- **Cancellation/Refund Policy** All payments deposited before the payment due date are refundable up to 85pct. All payments after the payment due date are nonrefundable.
Who can attend the trip?
- Trips are for anyone wanting to explore Ghana!
We are geared to those motivated to make a difference in the African communities while having a great time reconnecting with culture, cuisine, and adventure. Most importantly, this trip is customizable when it comes to volunteer opportunities. If you have a specific idea or passion we would like to incorporate it in your trip so that you can get the most out of your volunteer efforts. For instance, IASO can use those knowledgeable in fitness to set up a workout clinic, we can also use those talented in art and those people can help create a fun project at an orphanage or school, or even those in construction that could focus on rebuilding and repairing schools. The list is endless.
Can I change my arrival and departure dates?
- We are very flexible, but each situation and circumstance differs from the next. We would like to accommodate you the best way can, so if something does come up regarding your arrival date, reach out to us immediately to see how we can help. Early departure dates are accepted, and we will assist you in the best way we can.
How many spaces are available for each trip?
- We hold between 7 and 12 seats per trip.
